Rodrigo
Vilhena, nasceu em Maio de 68 em Lisboa. É um artista que
colaborou e organizou diferentes exposições alternativas entre Caldas da
Rainha e Lisboa durante os anos 90. Bolseiro da Sensable Technologies
- Banff Centre for the Arts, Banff - Canadá (1998). Bolseiro
da Fundação Calouste
Gulbenkian, Lisboa (1998 | 1999).
Licenciatura em Artes Plásticas - E.S.A.D., Caldas da Rainha (2000). Concebeu a galeria virtual e itinerante "Dona
Ivone" (2000 | 2001). Organizou e coordenou o work in progress "Condição
Humana",
Lisboa (2002) Mestrado em Pintura - F.B.A.U.L, Lisboa (2003). Definiu o
conceito da exposição colectiva "A
Loja do Lopes",Lisboa (2004).Presentemente está a realizar o work in progress "Solaris",
Lisboa - Londres (2004 | 2007) sendo responsável pelo "Voyeur
Project View" (2005 | ... ) |
Rodrigo Vilhena was born in May of 68 in Lisbon. He is a artist who collaborated and organized different alternative exhibitions between Caldas da Rainha and Lisbon during the 90´s. Scholarship from Sensable Technologies - Banff Centre for the Arts, Banff - Canada (1998). Schlarship from Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon (1998 | 1999). Undergraduate in Arts - E.S.A.D., Caldas da Rainha (2000). Conceived and directed the itinerant and virtual gallery "Dona Ivone" (2000 | 2001). Organized the work in progress "Human Condition", Lisbon (2002). Master´s degree in Painting - F.B.A.U.L., Lisbon (2003). Defined the concept of the collective exhibition "The Lopes Shop"(2004). In the present time is doing the work in progress "Solaris", Lisbon - London (2004 | 2007) and responsible for the "Voyeur Project View" (2005 | ... )

"SOLARIS" |

"Solaris" (Stanislaw Lem, 1961) é um work in progress apresentado em cinco exposições realizadas entre Lisboa e Londres. Tal como o oceano do planeta solaris, que não simboliza o desejo do ser humano de expandir as fronteiras da terra para o Universo, não procurar planetas novos, mas sim a descoberta de espelhos que nos reflictam, para nos auto-conhecermos. “Solaris” é sobre o próprio processo de trabalho e a busca incessante na reconfiguração de fronteiras. |
"Solaris" (Stanislaw Lem, 1961) is a work in progress presented in five exhibitions between Lisbon and London. Such as the ocean of the planet Solaris, that it does not symbolize the desire of the human being to expand the borders of the land for the Universe, not to look for new planets, but to the discovery mirrors that reflect us, for auto-discovery. Solaris is about the proper process of the work of art and the incessant search in the reconfiguration of borders. |

A LOJA DO LOPES 04 |

O
título advém da célebre pintura de
Watteau.
“A Loja de Gersaint” (1720). Trata-se de uma pintura
de Antoine Watteau, o mais significativo pintor da sociedade aristocrática de então.
Na época o pintor propôs ao seu amigo Gersaint pintar a sua “boutique
à tablleaux”, situada sobre a ponte de Notre Dame. |
The Lopes Shop is a appropriation of
the painting "The Gersaint
Shop" (Antoine Watteau,1720) one of the most significant
painter of the aristocratic society at the time. The painter considered
its Gersaint friend to paint its "boutique to tablleaux",
situated on the bridge of Notre Dame, Paris, representing the end of a society
and the beginning of another. |

A génese do work in progress radica num conjunto de
trabalhos realizados entre 1986 e 2001. Sem escolha prévia das obras,
durante seis meses efectuou-se uma acumulação de trabalhos de diferentes
artistas. A cada semana as imagens foram alterando as suas posições relativas
ao espaço numa
incessante recombinação de trabalhos. Com o
desenvolvimento da actividade, foram rebatidos no chão os limites dos
trabalhos, como marcas vazias. Estas marcas, com o passar do tempo, foram
construindo um mapa-mundo da "Condição Humana". |
This
work in progress started with a set of art works made between 1986 and
2001. Without previous choice of the works, during
six months was made a accumulation of paintings from different artists.
Each week the images move around the space in a permanent mobile
combination of the works. With
the development of the activity,
the limits of the works were painted like empty marks. In time only the marks of the art works rest in the
floor, building a map of the "Human Condition". |

A Galeria Dona Ivone foi uma galeria da paródia em relação ao mercado e circuito da arte contemporânea. Não tendo um espaço fixo e real, era virtual e itinerante. A galerista era uma empregada da ESAD, Caldas da Rainha. A intenção era mostrar artistas emergentes e criticar o sistema da arte. Quatro exposições foram realizadas entre Lisboa e Caldas da Rainha: "Ecrã", "Caldas da Rainharte Contêmporanea", "Auto-Retrato" e "Paisagem". |
Dona Ivone Gallery was a parody gallery in relation to the art market and circuit of contemporary art. Don't have a real and fix space and location, it was virtual and itinerant. The gallerist was the cleaning woman of the ESAD art school of Caldas da Rainha. The intention was to show emergent artists and criticize the art establishment. Four exhibitions here made between Lisbon and Caldas da Rainha: "Screen", "Caldas da Rainharte Contêmporanea", "Self-Portrait" and "Landscape". |
